Crucial Exam Hall Advisory

FreeExamTimer is an auxiliary visual clock designed to assist teachers and invigilators. As mandated by standard examination codes worldwide (e.g., JCQ regulations in the UK), invigilators must always maintain an official secondary clock (such as a battery wall clock) in the examination room. Ensure projection laptops are connected to AC mains power.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using FreeExamTimer (freeexamtimer.com), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the service.

2. Educational License & Permitted Use

FreeExamTimer is granted to you free of charge under a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for educational, instructional, commercial, and personal exam timing. You may freely project the timer in:

  • Public, private, and charter primary and secondary schools
  • Colleges, universities, and polytechnics
  • Commercial test centers, tutoring companies, and academic bootcamps
  • Home study and self-timed mock testing

3. Hardware, Battery & System Sleep Guidelines

While FreeExamTimer implements the modern W3C Screen Wake Lock API to prevent host operating systems from entering sleep mode, hardware behavior may vary depending on operating system policies, battery-saver profiles, and corporate IT group policies.

You agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring your hardware remains powered, unmuted (if audible chimes are required), and configured to avoid unexpected automatic restarts or power-saving screen cutoffs during an active test.

4. Intellectual Property

The FreeExamTimer brand, bespoke audio synthesis algorithms, visual layouts, icons, typography integration, and digital assets are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not sell, sub-license, repackage, or distribute modified copies of FreeExamTimer without express written authorization.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the application, including:

  • Attempting denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against the hosting network.
  • De-compiling or reverse engineering proprietary assets.
  • Framing the website within third-party advertising-heavy frames without attribution.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

FreeExamTimer is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely compatible with all historical web browsers or non-standard projection hardware.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the creators or maintainers of FreeExamTimer be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the timer. This includes, without limitation, candidate examination scores, missed paper submissions, examination cancellations, or disputes between examination centers and candidates.

8. Governing Law & Modifications

We reserve the right to revise these Terms and Conditions at our discretion. Continuing to access FreeExamTimer after modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
